Marketing-the social factor

Life changes a lot. Our lifestyles, our behavior and our ever increasing desire to have a better status in society grows more and more. So those involved in business have to inevitably consider this social factor.

Change is permanent and with changing scenarios people especially involved in marketing their service, idea or product have to invariably face a task of catering to this change factor.Social change is the most difficult variable for marketing managers to forecast, influence and integrate into marketing plans.

We value ourselves a lot and we also consider being valuable and being praised in the society we live in. With this in mind we are more careful in deciding about what we use and will not tolerate ineffective products. A choice of a product comes with proper research. Therefore a marketer must expect uncomfortable questions. He also faces an undaunted competition from fellow marketers. People do not want a single penny of their hard earned money to be wasted and this makes them alert in choosing their product and service. Companies therefore have to assume that they will have tough customers. After all these are people have spent their money and energy in educating and then finding a suitable money yielding job. Now that they are customers they see to it that they have really earned for themselves status and satisfaction therewith.

As a changing trend with increasing work pressure we want to give more time to leisure. The work we have at our place of livelihood takes a toll of our body and mind. We the people nowadays prefer staying at home and working in the comfort of our dome. We want to spend more time with our family. We are fitness enthusiasts and buying new shoes for example would be handy.Considering this as a potential need marketers enthusiastically and vigorously come up with their brand of products. This is just one example there are many such underlying opportunities with obstacles involved. Choice of brands that suit our lifestyle has to be impeccable. Marketers have started taking this into consideration. The boom in internet has been a welcome and marketers have geared up to generate products for people who want to relish being at home and also earning money in the most comfortable way. Marketers have geared up to make "life easy making products and services". Home shopping like ebay, online banking and many other services are being preferred. Challenges do face the marketers when realizing that the choice of customers vary. Some prefer small shops and some prefer the larger ones. So those involved in small shop look up to large shops as big hell of competitors and the larger ones under the same dilemma. The struggle continues and new ideas have therefore become valuable.

Today people live multiple lifestyles. It is not necessary that the choice of a product would be influenced by their profession. People want everything and the desire is never ending.Relishing this fact however the marketers have to actually face another kind of challenge. People have multiple professions too. They like to do variety of things in order to derive more happiness in the work they do for money. Multiple lifestyles have increased the complexity of consumers' buying habits.Marketers cannot generalize that if a certain group of people is travel freak or prefer certain kind of travel. There is variety in the decision of the consumer. It is impossible to decipher that if a person has bought a certain product he will buy another one too. Changing government policies, nations political environment have also to be taken into consideration.

Motivation factor in business developing

Motivating and encouraging employees in a business empire is a matter worth "a look into". The atmosphere and the mindset of employees generated caters to a very important need of an organization. We often see employees quitting complaining about their bosses' behavior and thus bringing instability in the overall process of working and creating new things. Here i will discuss the standard methods that are being studied and should be implemented by a good and ideal business organization.

The few things that matter are in the first place:

  • Salary
  • wages
  • incentives
  • allowances

these are the basic needs needed to be deployed. Taking care of the basic needs of employees is what managing human resources is about. Taking care of the employees image of his organization which can be improved by seriously jotting down the above bulleted factors and the following

  • giving promotions
  • handing over more responsibilities
  • suitable transfers
  • distribution and improvements in authority delegation
  • good working atmosphere
  • needs such as canteen, fresh rooms, entertainment zones etc

well these are the standard and basic concepts that should be clear in the manager's mind.

According to thinker McClure there are two motivational factors the X and the Y. He has discusses certain basic assumptions made in order to go ahead with improvement of human resources.

the X factors assume that the employees are negatively oriented and not at all charged and also do not have a strong morale. The Y factor says the opposite, the employees are from a good educational background and are with high morale values. The X factor also says that the employees do not or can not take decisions on their own and cant handle any kind of pressure while the y factor says that the employees know what they are doing and are motivated about the need that the organization has to grow with their presence and efforts.

Therefore the study and implementation of motivation generating steps are possible through a proper strategy and being acquainted with the basics thus.
